Why we choose 'Da Nang International Model United Nations'
When the Da Nang International Model United Nations (DAIMUN) organization was first created, it was called Da Nang Model United Nations (DNMUN). After much consideration and discussion, it was decided to change the organization name from DNMUN to DAIMUN, adding the word “international” into the name.
According to the United Nations Association of the United States of America, Model United Nations is an “authentic simulation of the UN General Assembly, UN Security Council, or other multilateral body, which introduces students to the world of diplomacy, negotiation, and decision making” on an “international” level. Model United Nations aids students in becoming global citizens and aims to create an environment where students learn more about and integrate into international communities. DAIMUN strongly believes and agrees with these goals and aims to implement them into its conferences.
Additionally, although DAIMUN is centered in Da Nang, Vietnam, the organization operates on an international basis with many of our team members shattered through the globe. We also fully welcome all international students to both become a delegate at our conference and join our DAIMUN team. Since we so avidly embrace all forms of cultural and international exchange, it was decided to take upon the name “Da Nang International Model United Nations” or “DAIMUN” to fully embody the goals and standards of our organization.

Huế is well known for its historic monuments, which have earned it a place in UNESCO's World Heritage Sites. The seat of the Nguyễn emperors was the Imperial City, which occupies a large, walled area on the north side of the Perfume River. Inside the citadel was a forbidden city where only the emperors, concubines, and those close enough to them were granted access; the punishment for trespassing was death. Today, little of the forbidden city remains, though reconstruction efforts are in progress to maintain it as a historic tourist attraction.
