NGUYEN QUOC ANH - UNSC    This year, DAIMUN is honored to welcome Mr. Quoc Anh Nguyen, a chairman hailing from Hanoi, Vietnam. A fresh graduate from Hanoi Law University, Quoc Anh possesses ample knowledge about sociopolitical issues. With his passion for Model United Nation, Quoc Anh has engaged as a Dais member in 15 different MUNs over the course of 3 years, receiving some prestigious awards. He was awarded Outstanding Delegate at VNHNMUN 2015 at Disarmament and International Security Council and awarded at VYMUN 2017 for Outstanding Delegate of United States National Security Council. He believes that Model United Nation is a unique chance for young people to convey their thoughts regarding worldwide issue, and that is also the reason why he is coming to Danang to chair in DAIMUN 2018. Quoc Anh is the Founder of Model United Nations Institute (MIV), with a strong determination to spread out MUN and political, international relations related activities. Though an expert in MUN, Quoc Anh believes that his role in a new city would pose some significant challenges that he is determined to overcome.

  KLAYTON VALENZUELA  -  ECOSOC    ECOSOC Committee of Danang International Model United Nations welcomes a chair from the Philippines. Joining Model UN conferences is not something that this year's ECOSOC chair has expected doing until his sophomore year in college. Though apathetic during his freshman year, Klayton has already participated to various MUN conferences within and outside his home country. He participated to the Harvard World Model United Nations for two consecutive years in 2016 and 2017. This Consular and Diplomatic Affairs major also has an experience training delegates as he was assigned to be the Head Delegate of his school's delegation to the Harvard World MUN which was held in Canada last 2017. He earned his first MUN-related award as the Outstanding Delegate of UNHCR during the 18th Benilde Model United Nations. In 2018, he was appointed as the Deputy Secretary-General for the 19th Benilde Model United Nations, the largest and pioneer Model UN conference in their country. Recently, he chaired for the Economic and Social Council during the 4th De La Salle Model United Nations in the Philippines; his first exposure as a member of a committee dais. This year, he will be chairing ECOSOC once again but this time, it will be in an international conference - another first for him.

Even though already participated in a lot of MUN conferences, this is his first time being a chair. He focuses on low politics international issues such as environment, poverty and gender equality. He believes that high politics is important, but due to high advance technology, big actors involved and the issues itself doesn’t really consider the society, low politics issues needs more attention. Because the issues is threatening global society directly and to some point it endanger people’s future lives. Environment is the source of life and need to be protected. Millions of people are suffering because of hunger. Women from different parts of the world doesn’t have the chance to live the life they wanted. Trough Model UN, he believes that youth can participate in making a better world. With this enthusiasm, he joined a local MUN Club to hone his skill and to keep participating in MUN. He is looking forward to meeting all the delegates in Danang International Model UN 2018.

He has never chaired before, and DAIMUN will mark the first conference as a Chairman. He has been an active feminist with his artistic products which tackle sociopolitical issues. Jason believes that gender equality and women empowerment is an extremely important factor, therefore he chose to chair UN Women to help creating changes. He believes that through Model UN, young people will be more aware of sociopolitical isses, and he hopes that someday he and some of his own delegates will change the world to be a better place. With his enthusiasm, he was accepted by Yale Young Global Scholars "International Relations and National Security" summer program of the prestigious Yale University. He is also the Chief of Media and Communication in Model United Nations Institute (MIV), with a strong determination to spread out MUN and political, international relations related activities. This year, he will come to Da Nang to chair in DAIMUN 2018, and he is looking forward to meeting more young and potential delegates.

Rafika Olivia Devana is a junior at Airlangga University, Indonesia majoring in International Relations. She started her MUN career since the first year she entered college. She is a MUN veteran with the achievement of joining several International Model United Nations Conferences. She was the representative of Airlangga University at Asia Youth General Forums 2017 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Recently, she works as a representative at Asa Pacific  MUN 2017 in the Hongkong University, Hong Kong. Rafika has won many awards such as the Best Delegate in Brawijaya School of Diplomacy MUN in 2016, and Honorable Mentions in Asean Youth General Forums MUN 2017. Beside Model UN, she spends most of her time as a Lecture Assistant of Indonesia Strategy Studies 1 in International Relations department of Airlagga University, and works professionally as an Pencak Silat Martial Art athletes. She is looking forward to see an effective, mind-blowing, and critical discussion that delegates would contribute to the UN Women Committee of Danang International Model United Nations 2018.
